Frank during his time as SID in his office in Reynolds Coliseum.

Per the N&O:

Frank Weedon, the former N.C. State assistant athletic director, has died, the university confirmed Tuesday.

Weedon had been in declining health in recent years.

Weedon held an administrative post in the athletics department for 23 years and worked as the Pack’s sports information director for 12 years.

A native of Washington, D.C., Weedon served as the Pack’s SID from 1960 through 1972.

Here’s a great read from the N&O back in 2010 about Frank.

For so many years, Frank Weedon was THE source of NC State athletics information.  You would’ve never met a more passionate supporter of the Wolfpack; perhaps surprising given he graduated from Maryland and not NC State.  He probably broke every rule in the book of press box decorum, yet no one cared because it was simply Frank being Frank.  His State pride had no off switch.

You’re already missed Frank, but I know you’re happy to finally be reunited with Janice.
