R&R Podcast: Episode 24. Corch Explains The High Post Offense

October 24, 2011

With every new coach comes new coaching philosophies, naturally, but new men's basketball coach Mark Gottfried is bringing with him an offensive style few teams run: The High Post Offense.

For the benefit of you, the listener, I took the opportunity to pick the brain of Chris Corchiani on what makes the HPO unique and why it can be so effective when run properly. Corch gives us some great insight into how it differs from what most teams run and why that will pose challenges for the current basketball squad this season as they adjust to it.

If you're not quite sure what the high post offense is, or simply want to learn more about it, I highly recommend you check out the first segment. It's a must-listen.

That's not all we have in store on this week's show, of course. Chuck dials in from Tallahassee to talk about the Virginia game and the upcoming tilt with his "other" school, Florida State. And since next Monday is Halloween and we won't be recording that night, tonight is the show I took the opportunity to whip out some nifty theremin music and cheesy audio FX.

Oh, and midway through the third segment, Derek and Chief Executive Associate Assistant Producer Chris decided to start doodling on my notepad. You can see the results of their handy work by clicking the picture to enlarge it.
