R&R Podcast: Episode 13

August 10, 2011

It's episode 13 of the podcast, and we're lucky* enough to continue our series of conversations with Chuck Amato. For all you young parents out there with a son starting his first foray into football, Chuck shares his advice for parents of young athletes and how he began a career in sports.

We also talk fall scrimmage stuff, both with Chuck and with just the in-restaurant crew, and about what this coaching staff is looking for from the team after the first organized scrimmage.

Also, I am horrible at reading a calendar, as you will hear.

*EDIT: I originally had this in quotes, trying to emphasize the "lucky number 13" element, but after I re-read it as it was originally written, the quotes made it seem sarcastic and that we were in fact unlucky to have Chuck back on the show, which couldn't be further from the truth. So I removed the quotes and hopefully with them any confusion.

I will not be following this anymore until you stop using Flash. Try to support the 250 million devices that run iOS.

Phil, we will be glad to welcome you back with open arms once creates an iOS-friendly MP3 player.

I suppose you could write Steve Jobs a letter and ask him why his suite of iProducts doesn’t support Flash, used by billions of folks across the globe.

The easiest solution to this impass would be for you to subscribe to the podcast through iTunes. Then you’ll get the podcast delivered to you as soon as it posts without the need of dealing with any of that Flash nastiness.

I did some further exploration and found a way around the Flash issue, so hopefully you’ll be able to enjoy the podcast from your iPhone or iPad without any difficulty.

In fact, I’d love it if you’d give it a try and see if the new player I have installed works as it should. That’d be a big help to me.

Sorry if I came off like a smartass before. I get irritated at stuff like the Flash/Apple impasse because of things like this: Where a guy like me, a humble blogger and not someone who gets their hands dirty with code too often, discovers that his site doesn’t work like it should for all people because of a problem that seemingly is born out of the stubbornness of billionaires bickering back and forth.
