Battery, Larceny Charges Against JR Sweezy Dropped

According to sources close to the situation, charges against NC State defensive tackle J.R. Sweezy were dismissed today in an Iredell County courthouse.

Sweezy had previously been charged with misdemeanor assault and battery and misdemeanor larceny following an incident that occurred in Mooresville, North Carolina in mid-March.

The “incident,” if you’ll recall, is where Sweezy was accused of beating up a shuttle bus driver and taking his tip jar. As to why the charges were dropped, I can’t say. Perhaps the prosecution didn’t have enough evidence to go on, or maybe the charges were inaccurate/false to begin with. Who knows.

Sweezy’s still not out of hot water, as he was part of “The College Inn Four” cited for smoking pot earlier this spring.

It wasn’t all good news today in the legal department…NC State’s Dance Team coach was charged today with embezzling over $20,000 worth of cash and whatnot over a span of three years.

God closes a door, he opens a window, I suppose.
